Time To Pet alternative for boarding: Boardinn vs Time To Pet
Time To Pet is the stronger choice for in-home pet care (sitters, walkers, drop-ins), with staff and client apps and a published $79 Facility plan. Boardinn suits pet hotels that want a boarding-first system on their own domain, with GDPR built in.

Who each product is for
Time To Pet started with in-home pet care, meaning sitters, dog walkers and drop-in visits, and that’s still the heart of the product. The in-home plans are priced per active staff member, the staff app is built for someone out on a route, and the client app lets an owner follow a visit. It then added a separate Facility product for boarding and daycare, with a Front Desk Mode for check-ins, spaces, feeding schedules, medication logs, invoices and online payments. If you run walking or sitting alongside boarding, or you already use their in-home product, the Facility plan is the natural next step, and at a published $79 a month it’s easy to evaluate.
Boardinn only does the facility side, and does it as a pet hotel: owners book online against your real kennel count, the board opens on today’s arrivals, pets in care and departures, services get ticked off as they’re done, and the invoice adds itself up at check-out as a PDF under your brand.
What “your own domain” means here
Time To Pet gives clients a portal and an app. Its site doesn’t say whose domain the portal runs on, or whether the app in the store carries your business’s name or theirs, so we won’t guess. Ask them, because the answer decides who owns the front door to your hotel.
Boardinn’s answer is clear: each hotel gets its own site on its own domain, with HTTPS set up and renewed automatically, in one of five designs using the hotel’s colours and fonts. Guests book at your address, in English or Georgian (Russian is partly translated so far), reminder emails come from your name, and any links or reviews the site earns build up on your domain, not ours. Here’s why we think that matters.
Pricing
Time To Pet’s Facility plan is $79 a month, with a fourteen-day trial and no card required. Boardinn is one plan at $99 a month per hotel ($85 billed annually), with a 21-day trial and no card required. The details are on the pricing page.
Where Boardinn is behind
Boardinn has no mobile app, for staff or for clients. It doesn’t do in-home care at all (no routes, no visit check-ins, no GPS), so if walking and sitting are half your business, Time To Pet is simply the better fit. So far Boardinn has one hotel live, Milo Pet Hotel, the hotel it was built with (read Milo’s story).
What you get instead is a system built around a boarding stay rather than a visit: photos and videos from the stay on the owner’s booking page, a day-before pick-up reminder, owners able to change their own booking online if you allow it, and your own installation with its own database, hosted in the EU.
How we checked
Every claim about Time To Pet on this page was checked on 12 October 2026 against timetopet.com: the homepage, the pricing page, the mobile apps page and the pet boarding software page. Where their site doesn’t say something, such as the portal’s domain, app branding, its GDPR position or language options, we say so rather than guess. We re-check the page whenever we update the date. If we’ve got something wrong, email hello@boardinn.pet and we’ll fix it.
